One of the most beautiful views of the wild Rhone awaits you right at the start of this themed trail at the church in Varen. Afterwards the trail leads through the vineyards in a wide curve towards Salgesch and after a short climb reaches a pleasantly cool irrigation channel above the village. Here there is a wonderful view over the village and the Rhone valley A short descent brings you back to the starting point in the village of Varen. In the Valais German dialect the word "Pfyfoltru" means butterfly and signifies near-natural wine production and natural wine-making for the wine-growers of Varen. The successful Pinot Noir "Pfyfoltru” is more than just a promise, and you should definitely try it in one of the many wine cellars and tasting rooms.
