The cooperation Destination Nature

With the public transport to the Swiss parks
Environmentally friendly travel and slow tourism: with Destination Nature, the Swiss parks work together with public transport companies to offer you great experiences.

About Destination Nature

Since 2016, the Swiss Parks Network, ATE Switzerland and the Graubünden Birdlife association together with the Rhaetian Railway and the PostBus have come together under the Destination Nature cooperation to promote sustainable mobility and slow tourism in the Graubünden parks.

Destination Nature encourages visitors to travel and discover the Swiss National Park, the Parc Ela, the Beverin Regional Nature Park, the Biosfera Val Müstair, the Parco Val Calanca (candidate) and the UNESCO World Heritage Swiss Tectonic Arena Sardona in an environmentally friendly way by using public transport.

In 2020, the Swiss Federal Railways SBB, PostBus Switzerland, the Swiss Transport Club, the Swiss Bird Protection SVS/BirdLife Switzerland and the Swiss Parks Network founded the Destination Nature cooperation. The cooperation is committed to the development of attractive and innovative offers for travelling to and from the parks by public transport. It also aims at promoting the use of public transport as a core element of the holiday experience.

The idea of Destination Nature has been a huge success in Germany: The cooperation was started in 2001 by the environmental associations BUND, NABU and VCD, as well as the Deutsche Bahn. Owing to the cross-border cooperation between the Swiss Parks Network and Destination Nature Germany (Fahrtziel Natur Deutschland) the initiative was widened to the pilot region of Graubünden.
