Schweizerischer Nationalpark - "Would you like to see things that you don't normally see?" This question on the poster in front of the National Park centre sounds puzzling. But the Champlönch children's trail explains.
The wonderfully simple and beautiful hike includes crossing "the long meadow" (Champlönch) to Alp Grimmels, zigzagging down to the Ova da Val Ftur and then running comfortably along the slopes of Piz dal Fuorn.
The short tour (1.5 - 2.5 h) ends in the romantic Hotel Il Fuorn, in former times a favourite stopover for travellers, mule trains and smugglers and today a kind of base camp for visitors to the National Park. It is still the only hotel in the 100 year old nature reserve.
Since July 2009 the trail has been offering families interactive experiences in the Swiss National Park. In the National Park centre in Zernez the digital trail guide can be borrowed, together with a book with an audio CD. The digital trail guide is also part of the Smartphone app iWebpark and can be downloaded for iPhone and Android. At the starting and ending point of the trail there is a parking site and a bus stop: start P1 Champlönch, end P6 Il Fuorn.
