08.08.2024: Ze Binne - Heiligkreuz passable, the rest closed
A long but unique hike that leads from Binn over the Saflisch Pass to Rosswald. The hike starts in Binn, where an arched bridge crosses the Binna. The descent to Ze Binne is gentle and continues to Heiligkreuz The ascent to Grummela is then steep in places. Past Sickerchäller to Mässhitta, the trail follows a gravel road with a gentle gradient for almost an hour and a half. From Mässhitta, you switch to a path that climbs steeply in places up to Tanzbede. Striking: the gravel-covered hills and peaks of the Bättli and Milihorn. A little later, the highest point of the hike is reached at 2563 metres. From the Saflisch Pass, the panorama of the Valais four-thousand-metre peaks is magnificent.
After the pass, the hike continues for an hour to the water basin above Fleschbode, where the path becomes steeper again. The Fleschbode restaurant is a good place to take a break. For the last thirty minutes, the path is sometimes very steep, but always with magnificent views over the Rhone Valley and the surrounding mountains to the beautifully situated Rosswald. The stage ends at the gondola lift. From the cable car valley station, you can take the post bus back to the centre of Brig.
