Naturpark Pfyn-Finges - The first stage starts well above the Rhone Valley and takes you down to the bottom of the valley with magnificent views over the sunny terraces.

Jeizinen - Erschmatt - Leuk-Stadt. The first stage starts well above the Rhone Valley and takes you down to the bottom of the valley with magnificent views over the sunny terraces. In dry rocky steppes, there are large boulders that the Rhone glacier once deposited on the limestone slopes. Rye fields are cultivated around Erschmatt and a variety garden ensures the conservation of traditional cultivated plants. In Leuk-Stadt, between Stephan Church and the castle, a slight touch of the late Middle Ages still blows through the alleys of the old town. Details

Natura Trails are theme trails through nature reserves to raise awareness of the need to protect nature and the landscape and to support sustainable regional development. The Natura Trail is more than just a hiking recommendation. The pocket guide enable you to embellish your walk with activities for young and old alike. There is always information about the animals and plants that you will encounter on the way, or about the landscape you are roaming through.
The result of the project launched by nature lovers in Austria in 2004 was that today, there are Natura Trails in Germany, Austria and in Eastern Europe. In 2008, the Austrian UNESCO Commission labelled the Natura Trail as the project of the decade in the sector “Education for Sustainable Development”.

Wall Creeper

Those who espy a wall creeper fluttering up a rock face are enraptured by its beauty. Its jerky spreading of its wide flashing carmine wings is reminiscent of a butterfly.
