Restaurant le Chalet

Parc naturel régional Gruyère Pays-d'Enhaut - Emblematic Gruyère establishment at the very heart of the medieval city, the Chalet offers authentic alpine decor with its woodwork, cowbells (made of thin, plated sheet metal), and "bottes-culs" (one-legged stools used when milking cows) hanging from the ceiling. Its attractive roof is of traditional tavillon (wood-shingles).

The soul of the Gruyère region is still the famous alpage (alpine pasture) gruyere cheese. Lovingly made from May to September from single herd's milk, this exceptional cheese descends from long history of pastoral culture that is still alive and well today.

Guests can choose from a rich assortment of regional products made following traditional recipes of the Gruyère.
