Prareman Sheep Farm
Parc naturel régional Gruyère Pays-d'Enhaut - Maurane and Malik Bajrami are famed for their delicious lamb meat products. On their sheep farm, at the entry to the Intyamon valley, the lambs are reared naturally on their mother’s milk.
Malik was 14 when he began keeping sheep. When he met his future wife Maurane, Malik found a soulmate who embraced his passion. Initially, the couple had a handful of ewes, which they also entered in agricultural shows. Over time, the couple have increased their flock.
Standing at an altitude of 800 metres, high above the village of Enney, the Prareman sheep farm is today home to 260 ewes and around 500 lambs. In summer, some 50 ewes graze on the high alpine pastures, while the rest of the flock spend their time on the grassy hills surrounding the farm. In winter, Maurane and Malik feed their sheep fodder produced on the farm.
All Prareman sheep farm products have the Terroir Fribourg and IP Suisse labels. Meat products can be ordered directly from Maurane, or from the farm’s social media
pages. The couple also has plans to open a self-service shop in the near future.
