Landschaftspark Binntal - Crossing the border
From the Binntal hut to the Albrun pass just takes less than half an hour. 50 m before the border there is a ruin of a guardhouse from the 2nd World War. On the pass the border to Italy is crossed. Afterwards the path leads steadily downhill. Passing the Lago Devero reservoir, you reach the village of Crampiolo and finally Alpe Devero. By bus you can join Baceno (Chiesa San Domenico) and then Domodossola. By train through the Simplon tunnel to Brig you reach Switzerland again.
An overnight stay at Alpe Devero is also highly recommended, as is the return on foot via Alpe Veglia-Geisspfadpass-Binntal (only for experienced hikers). Overnight accommodations at www.alpedevero.it.
A valid identity card or passport is required.
On request we will be happy to put you in touch with local walking guides.
