Naturpark Pfyn-Finges - The town of Sierre lies on the border between the Upper and Lower Valais and is thus also the language boundary for the German and French speaking parts of the canton. Sierre lies on hills between vineyards in the heart of Valais in the Alps
Wine-growing also plays a very important role here. Numerous top wines can be tasted in the Sensorama of the Château de Villa wine cellar. A 6 km nature trail to Salgesch starts at the Valais Vine and Wine Museum.
The sun-spoilt town is not only attractive for wine lovers, but also for artists and culture enthusiasts from all over the world. Among the most well-known is the poet Rainer Maria Rilke. He wrote about Sierre:
"The fact that in scenic appearance, Spain and the Provence seem to join together here so strangely, had already really moved me back then." The poet's Valais years are illustrated at the "Fondation Rilke" exhibition on the Rue du Bourg.

Discover wine and water between Sierre and Salgesch. The walk goes from Sierre past the Gironde Lake and along the wild Rhone to Salgesch. A wine-tasting stop at one of the wine partner companies is well worthwhile.
