Grimmimutz Adventure Trail

Hiking trail
Time required: 1 hour 30 minutesLength: 4.13 km

Naturpark Diemtigtal - A circular hiking trail with various game stations has been created from the children's story by Peter Zahnd about the adventures of the forest little man Grimmimutz and the evil pepper witch.

On the way, children read the story of Grimmimutz, play at the stations and discover nature. Along the way, barbecue spots invite you to grill cervelat.

Grimmimutz is a good-natured, quirky forest little man who lives in the Grimmialp area. He actually loves nothing more than peace and nature. But as often happens in life: if the evil neighbor doesn’t like it... His faithful companion is the giant Spillgert. Together they help the inhabitants of Grimmialp fight against the evil intentions and pranks of the pepper witch and her husband Lothar.

The nature experience
The various game stations are designed for children. They learn to interact with nature in a playful way. The hiking then almost goes by itself. Maybe you’ll recognize Grimmimutz’s gray tuft behind the next rootstock? But you’ll definitely see the enormous Spillgert, the enchanted giant from the story, down in the valley.

Safety advices

The path is stroller-friendly up to the blockhouse "Mutzenstube." If you have a stroller, a shortcut leads back to the starting point from here.

Signalization

After a few meters, you come across the large memory game. Here you test your memory skills with pictures from the story. The Senggibach meanders along your path. Who will be the first to spot the trout in the crystal-clear stream? Further ahead, it gets magical: using the tools on site, you carve your own magic wand.

At the Maadbrücke, you fly down on the "witch's flight" like a witch on her broomstick. What fun! After a short climb, you reach the blockhouse "Mutzenstube." Whoever paints the most beautiful drawing of Grimmimutz here and guesses the solution word further up the path wins, with some luck, the annual competition. Continuing up the path, we come to the game station "Disenchant the Witch": Who can take the witch's magic power without being noticed? At the next station, Spillgert hit the witch with the fir tree. Who hits her best with a pinecone? To have enough ammunition here, you should collect many pinecones along the way.

After the witch turned Spillgert into a mountain, Grimmimutz built a fountain to catch all the many tears. At this fountain, you quench your thirst with Spillgert’s tears. Shortly before the descent, you encounter the alpine skittles alley. Who manages to knock down all the skittles with the wooden ball in one stroke? A hobby that the alpine herders discovered long ago. They also made their skittles alley out of wood.

Before you only go downhill and back to the starting point, there’s still a climbing tour ahead: At the climbing wall, you practice your climbing skills. Once at the bottom, you find the wooden water play that invites you to "Choslen" and ponder: Where does the water come from, where does it flow, and which hole guides it further?
