The Diemtigtal offers a wealth of carefully maintained and vibrant architectural culture in an intact and charming landscape with its traditional scattered settlement structure. For this, the municipality of Diemtigen was awarded the Henri-Louis Wakker Prize over 30 years ago. The magnificent wooden houses from the 18th and 19th centuries shape the Diemtigtal.
The traditional building style is still applied today in new buildings in chalet style. The municipality of Diemtigen has succeeded in preserving the settlement character of the valley in an exemplary manner through farsighted local planning. Signalization
From Oey-Diemtigen train station, follow the valley road to the Katzenloch bridge and turn there towards Diemtigen. After a few kilometers, you reach the village of Diemtigen with its magnificent houses and the church. The onward journey leads back to the valley road, which takes you along the Fildrich to Schwenden.
A short detour on the Grimmialp to Blauseeli is worth it: The small lake with an underground inflow has a calming and soothing effect and invites you to take a short break.
Back on the valley road towards Oey, after about one kilometer past the Tiermatti inn, turn onto a side road that takes you to the former farms Entschwil, Horboden, and Bächlen. The last gentle descent leads you back to the Oey-Diemtigen train station.
