Mountain Drive: Medium wheelchair tour with Blauseeli

Naturpark Diemtigtal - The medium Mountain Drive route is suitable for you if you already have some experience with the wheelchair. The route takes you around the Grimmialp to the most beautiful spots.

Mountain Drive is an all-terrain wheelchair specially designed for natural mountain hiking trails, rough gravel, and steps. Since September 2021, a Mountain Drive wheelchair has been available for rent at Camping Eggmatte on the Grimmialp.

The medium Grimmialp route is very varied. First, it takes you through the scattered settlement of Grimmialp. From Senggiweid, you are in the alpine area and forest. The second half of the route follows the valley hiking trail and thus always along the cool brook.

The route is mostly flat; if there are inclines, they are gentle. Only the last part on the paved road rises a bit more sharply.

Note: This route has only been tested for all-terrain wheelchairs of the «Mountain Drive» brand.

Safety advices

On the road section from the campsite to Senggiweid and from Geissboden back to the campsite, you are on a road used by cars. Please drive at the roadside and make sure you can be seen by traffic.

Signalization

You leave Camping Eggmatte on the access road and turn right at the end, following the signs Grimmimutz, past the valley station of the Grimmialp cable car to the start of the Grimmimutz children's adventure trail. You follow the adventure trail further to the post «Hexenflug». Here you turn right and take the forest road that leads you back to the Grimmimutz starting point. After the barn (where the parking ticket machine is located), turn left into the side street and then follow the next path again to the left to Blauseeli. After your stay, return along the same path and continue straight ahead along the Senggibach downstream. At Geissboden, a bridge crosses the stream on the right and then you turn right again onto the road that leads back up to Camping Eggmatte. Please drive as far to the right as possible here so that you are seen by traffic.
