Rochers-de-Naye – Caux
Parc naturel régional Gruyère Pays-d'Enhaut - A bird's-eye view of Lake Geneva
The trail begins at the top of the Rochers-de-Naye, which offers breathtaking panoramic views of Lake Geneva, the Alps, and even the Jura mountain chain. The first stage follows the southwestern ridge of Rochers-de-Naye which slopes down towards Lake Geneva.
The trail gets off to a scenic and gentle start. It continues along a corridor between two rock walls until Sautodoz. From there, the track follows a tree-lined ridge, past the peaks of Les Dentaux and up to Le Creux à la Cierge. The trail turns right here and continues over the forested northwest face of the Rochers-de-Naye. A traverse leads down to Liboson d'en Haut. From here, the trail continues along the paved road to Haut-de-Caux. If you who wish to shorten the hike, you can take the train here.
The final stage goes past the iconic Caux-Palace. Built in 1902, the hotel transformed the region into a high-end tourist destination during the Belle Époque period (1910s). The hike ends at Caux railway station, just a few steps away from the Palace.
