In winter, when the Panorama road on the Glaubenbielen Pass is closed, you experience pure nature here. The view of the Rothorn chain and the traces of wild animals in the snow make you forget everyday life. Also fascinating: the landslide area, which is clearly visible on this route.

Wo während des Bauernkrieges Christian Schybi gegen die Willkürherrschaft der Stadt Luzern kämpfte oder wo unter Kronenbögen die Pferdepost zwischen Bern und Luzern die Wechselstation hatte, dort liegt das «Grenzdorf» Escholzmatt.
Am Fusse der majestätischen Schrattenfluh liegt das Dorf Marbach. Dort wurde im 19. Jahrhundert Milchzucker produziert und die Lourdes Grotte erbaut, als Nachbildung derjenigen im südfranzösischen Lourdes.
