Alp hike Tschuggen

Naturpark Diemtigtal - The hike leads you from the valley station of the Wiriehorn cable cars up to lush alpine pastures and the Wakker Prize-awarded village of Diemtigen.

On a varied hike from Riedli up to the Chilchflue and further to Alp Tschuggen, you breathe in fresh alpine air. The path mostly leads through shady mountain forests before you reach the impressive high plateau. Once at the top, you pass several alpine farms and will notice that a large number of cows and cattle find their home here during the summer months. With a view into the Simmental and the moor area of the Aegelsee, the path now goes down to Diemtigbergli and into the village of Diemtigen. It’s worth looking at the houses: the village image is shaped by buildings from the second half of the 18th century and the beginning of the 19th century, so pay attention to the magnificent houses and the Romanesque church in the middle of the village.
