Alpine Panorama Route Stage 20 (SchweizMobil 3)
Naturpark Gantrisch - From the lovely Schwarzsee to the Breccaschlund and into the sharp limestone landscape of the Greyerzer Alps, over the flat Euschel Pass, carved by glaciers, to Jaun, the only German-speaking village in the district of Gruyères.
The hike starts at the beautiful Schwarzsee. Along the lakeshore, a leisurely pace is worthwhile to enjoy the nature. Then the path leads up into the glacier-shaped Breccaschlund.
The limestone slopes are crisscrossed by sinkholes. The valley, framed by Pointe de Balachaux in the west, Schopfenspitz in the south, and Chörblispitz in the east, offers an impressive view of Schwarzsee. The landscape is characterized by old dry stone walls.
Then the route ascends gently up to the Euschel Pass, framed by Chällihorn and Chörblispitz, offering a magnificent view of the steep limestone cliffs of the Gastlosen, popular with climbers. After a short descent, the Ritzlialp alp hut is reached. Afterwards, the path goes over pastures down to Jaun.
