Parc naturel régional Gruyère Pays-d'Enhaut -

Open
From Gros Mont to Charmey, via La Monse

From the Charmey, Fin Hugon stop, the route climbs directly into the forest above the Gros Mont road. At point 997 (indicated on the map), take the path through the Fin Hugon mountain pasture, skirting the wooded hedge.

The hike goes deeper into the forest, then comes out a short distance from the first high point, at Poutes Paluds. From here, take the path on the right that climbs through pastureland past Longe Sia to the Gros Bovatey chalet. From here, a gentle climb up the hillside leads to the Gros Haut Crêt chalet. The route continues along a steep path that descends into a wooded valley. The forest path then follows a ridge to reach Petit Haut Crêt.

Once out of the forest, the route continues through pastures via Pâquier à Chollet, Les Craux and Les Plans. The path then climbs up to a ridge in the forest. Following the ridge on your left, you soon reach the Vanil de la Monse (1438 m). The descent to the Jogne valley follows the ridge. After passing the Jogne, the path crosses the hamlet of La Tzintre and leads up to the village of Charmey.
