Parc naturel régional Gruyère Pays-d'Enhaut - This stage of the trail runs from Rossinière to the Auberge de la Croix de Fer in Allières, criss-crossing forests and the Alps along the way. There are also several opportunities to visit mountain cheese dairies.
The walk starts in the village of Rossinière. The path crosses the Sarine river and follows the left shore of the Lac du Vernex before ascending gently to the Chalet du Carra. From here, the slope becomes steeper as it climbs towards the Crau Dessous mountain farm, where the delicious Le Sapalet cheeses are made. The trail crosses the Torrent des Riz before continuing underneath the majestic Dent de Corjon. It eventually passes two mountain farms: first, the Dent de Corjon and then Les Châtelards. From here, it is a short walk down to Pierra Derrey, then Pierra Devant. The path crosses the L’Hongrin river and another short walk leads to the Auberge de la Croix de Fer in Allières. The train station is 500 metres downhill from there.
