Parc naturel régional Gruyère Pays-d'Enhaut -
From the Gros Mont plain, the climb leads to the La Gueyre mountain pasture, the gateway to the Petit Mont. After a short descent, the path skirts the primary forest of Lapé, situated on a rocky outcrop from the north faces of the Dent de Savigny and Dent de Ruth. Some of these huge limestone boulders were home to Mesolithic hunter-gatherers. The path rises again to reach the Col du Loup, the highest point of the itinerary at 1915 m. With the passage to the south-facing slope, the terrain softens a little. The initially flat path then plunges into the cliffs of the Grand Orgue, a magnificent limestone structure streaked with grooves that attract many climbers. At the foot of the Grand Orgue, through a small valley and on to the south-facing slope of the Husegg, the path gradually rises again to the Grubenberghütte, where you can make a welcome stop. A short descent takes you to the Mittelberg Pass, where the new Postbus line between Saanen and Jaun stops.
