In the rocky steppes of Valais there live several rare types of birds (e.g. ortolan), reptiles (e.g. the green lizard) and insects (e.g. the rosy grizzled skipper butterfly - pyrgus onopordi). The vegetation is also characterised by special species.

The hermitage chapel in the rock face is reached through a late Renaissance style door and 200 steps. Next to it is the grotto in which St Ursicinus is supposed to have lived, and a viewpoint with a wonderful view of the Doubs.

According to legend a miller experienced a miracle in 1668 on the Buschberg. Since then the cross erected there and the chapel which was built later have become a place of Christian pilgrimage. Nearby there is a Celtic burial mound.

The Catholic church of St. George was built in 1737 according to Johann Caspar Bagnato's plans. Today it is without a doubt one of the most beautiful baroque constructions in the Frick valley.
