Bis 1450 thronte hier im kleinen Balm eine Hangburg in Richtung Rhein, bevor Schaffhauser Truppen sie im Streit mit Österreich zerstörten. Heute ist von der Burgmauer kein einziger Stein mehr auszumachen.
