Naturpark Diemtigtal - A hiking tour to the Niesen summit with fantastic far-reaching views and optional overnight stay on Springenboden.

After refreshments at the Gsässweid inn in Springenboden, the five-hour hike up to the Niesen summit begins. The magnificent distant view is your constant companion. On the way, the Hoschüpfe viewing platform offers breathtaking views of mountain peaks, Lake Thun and the wide valleys of the Simmental and Diemtigtal valleys. After 1243 metres in altitude, there it is: the Niesen summit. Enjoy your time up here before the Niesen cable car takes you back down to the valley.

Equipment / Equipment rent

Good mountain boots and weatherproof mountain clothing (sun/rain protection), hiking poles, pocket first-aid kit, rucksack with sufficient drinks and food

Signalization

The mountain trail is marked with yellow direction signs and leads from "Springenboden" via "Unterer Drune" to the "Hoschüpfe" viewing platform. From here the trail leads via "Geeri" and "Chummli" to "Untere Stalde" and via "Obere Stalde" up to the summit and the Niesen mountain station.

Safety advices

Despite the motto "If the Niesen summit has a hat, the weather will be fine", it is important to pay attention to the weather situation

The Panorama Trail leads through pastures with cattle and along fenced flocks of sheep, which are guarded by dogs. It is recommended that you do not bring a dog on the hike. Please note the corresponding information boards on site
