In Entlebuch, 60 percent of all forests are protective forests. And that is a good thing: without these forests, Entlebuch would hardly be habitable. How do protective forests work? How are they structured? How must they be maintained? At eight stations you will find answers to these questions. Engage with the forest! Sharpen your eye for nature! Understand why protective forests are especially important for Entlebuch!
At Oberstole you will not only find an incomparable view but also two fireplaces with wood, a fountain, and a toilet. In bad weather, the Oberstole hut provides shelter. It is open year-round – just like the entire forest, which in Switzerland is mostly accessible.
For the return path, you can take the gently descending road via Reistegg back to Heiligkreuz (45 minutes). Or extend the route and hike back to Heiligkreuz via First.
Do you want to experience the effect of a protective forest yourself? At the sliding model on the circular trail to the Kneipp facility Schwandalpweiher in Flühli, you have the opportunity to do so.
For more than five hundred years Heiligkreuz has been the spiritual centre of Entlebuch. Visitors can find energy and peace when making a pilgrimage, doing sport or just enjoying nature.
