Grengiols – Zenhäusern – Bister – Grengiols

Hiking trail
Time required: 3 hoursLength: 9.00 km

Landschaftspark Binntal -

Open
A varied circular walk that takes you past a traditional irrigation channel (Suone) to Zenhäusern, Binnelti, Bister, and back to Grengiols. The hike lasts about 3 hours.

Along the village street, you'll pass by the beautiful church of Grengiols as well as meadows and fields.
The church in Grengiols is not oriented from east to west like other churches, but from south to north.
The path then leads you along the old "Milleri" Suone to the hamlet of ze Hiischre. A visit to the "St. Anna" chapel is definitely worth it here. Follow the path along the gently ascending road to "Binnelti" towards Bister and then on to "Chrizacher". From here, you return to Grengiols via the Roman road / military road.

Grengiols tulips

The botanist Eduard Thommen described them as an independent species. "Tulipa grengiolensis" has been considered since then as a unique species of tulip that only grows in Switzerland. It flowers only in the village of Grengiols and its surroundings.
