Riedli valley station to the Wiriehorn mountain hotel
Naturpark Diemtigtal - The ascent from the valley to the Wiriehorn mountain hotel begins very inconspicuously. The higher you go, the more the panorama of the Diemtigtal unfolds before you.
The easy hike first takes you to the village of Entschwil, where magnificent examples of Simmental carpentry await you, built from 1700 until today. It is worth stopping here for a while and having a look around the village. After a section through the forest, a wonderful panoramic view opens up to the middle and rear Diemtigtal with its scattered settlement and mountains.
How do I get back to the starting point after the hike?
After a refreshment on the sun terrace of the Wiriehorn mountain hotel, a comfortable and scenic chairlift ride down to the valley is highly recommended. The trotti bike path also leads directly from the mountain station down to the valley and provides variety and fresh breeze. For those who prefer to walk downhill: the hike can also be done well in reverse order.

Safety advices
On the last section of the trail between Alp Röschteschwend and the Wiriehorn mountain hotel, downhill bikers use the hiking trail who are riding to the start of the downhill trail. We ask for mutual consideration.
Signalization
The hiking trail starts at the Wiriehorn cable car parking lot and leads up in a few zigzag bends to the Wiriehorn holiday center. Then you follow the flat, little-used road to Entschwil. Take the first turn to the right, past the Meyer carpentry, to the nearby wooded area and follow the road a little further until, on the right in a sharp curve, the forest road leads up the mountain towards Nüegg/Wiriehorn mountain station. You now follow it, first through shady forest, in the second part over open alpine terrain (with panoramic views) to the Alp Röschteschwend. The path then becomes a hiking trail that shortly takes you to the Wiriehorn mountain hotel.
