Snowshoe trail Grimmialp

Snowshoe route
Time required: 3 hours 20 minutesLength: 6.68 km

Naturpark Diemtigtal - With a bit of luck, you can observe a colony of ibex through a telescope on the way. There is reason to be happy: the ascent is rewarded with a great view into the Diemtigtal.

The marked snowshoe route at the valley end of the Diemtigtal Nature Park takes you through the home of Waldmanndli Grimmimutz to the wildlife observation station. Here you can discover, with a bit of luck, the ibex colony on the opposite mountainside through the permanently installed telescope. Taking a break and enjoying the view into the valley is almost a must at the Nidegg slope – do you know the surrounding peaks of the Diemtigtal?

If you like, you can start the ascent to the top station of the Grimmialp chairlift from Nidegg (1 km). However, this path is not marked and caution is advised when crossing ski slopes.

On site you will find moderately steep terrain with occasionally steeper sections on ascent and descent. A certain surefootedness is required for the route.

Signalization

The snowshoe route takes you from Grimmialp via Senggiweid with a slight ascent into the area of Waldmandli Grimmimutz. The route climbs through the Nideggwald to the wildlife observation post.
