Naturpark Beverin - This walk takes you to Alp Curtginatsch, the highest cattle pasture in the canton, to the mountain lakes Lai Grand and Lai Pintg, and on to the Cufercalhütte SAC. On the second day, the descent takes you past three idyllic mountain lakes.
This walk takes you to Alp Curtginatsch, the canton’s highest cattle pasture, to the mountain lakes Lai Grand and Lai Pintg, and on to the Cufercalhütte SAC. After a hearty breakfast, the descent the following day takes you via Alp Durnan, past three idyllic mountain lakes, to Andeer. A dip in the Lai Lung is guaranteed to refresh you, as is the spectacular view of the Surettahorn.
Hiking time:
Day 1: Ascent to the Cufercal Hut (SAC), 5 hours
Day 2: Descent to Andeer, 4.5 hours
Accommodation: Cufercal Hut (SAC) (or alternatively, Alp Nurdagn agritourism)
Getting there/starting point: By PostBus from Zillis to Wergenstein
In summer, the Bus alpin runs from Wergenstein to Alp Anarosa at weekends. This can significantly shorten the first stage of the walk.
Overnight stay at the Cufercal SAC hut or at the Alp Nurdagn agritourism accommodation
Humble place to eat and sleep on the newly refurbished Alp Nurdagn high above the treeline, with spectacular views over the mountains. Ideal for mountaineers, nature lovers and family with kids. Simple food from local products.
The hotel is located at 1491 m.a.s.l. in the middle of the Beverin Nature Park and is a place with tradition and lived hospitality. The historic hotel from the 1930s was gently renovated in 2011 and expanded with a wellness area in 2023.
The Cufercal hut lies at the foot of the Piz Calandari at 2385 m above sea level, above Sufers in the Canton of Grisons. It is the only SAC hut in Beverin Nature Park.
