History and culture trail

Naturpark Diemtigtal - The history and culture trail shows you selected excerpts from the lifestyles and epochs of the Diemtigtal, going back to the Middle Stone Age.

At eight stations you can read interesting information on the following topics:

• Trade and industry
• Art and culture
• Timber construction
• Tourism
• Important buildings
• Lifestyles

You learn how around 10,000 years ago prehistoric humans ventured into the still glaciated Diemtigtal in search of food and found shelter under the Eyeriedschopf in Zwischenflüh. Excavations of stone and bone tools prove human presence in the Diemtigtal during the Middle Stone Age – an important anchor for the Diemtigtal history and culture trail.

At the starting point, there is a large covered barbecue area. Reserve it as a group at the office of the Diemtigtal Nature Park.
