11 Gürbetal gravel loop: Belp – Wattenwil – Belp

Bicycle tour
Time required: 2 hours 20 minutesLength: 34.74 km

Naturpark Gantrisch - The gravel loop leads from Belp along the Gürbe river to Wattenwil and back along the foot of Belpberg as well as along the Mösche. The route is mostly flat and runs almost exclusively on gravel and dirt paths, partially quite bumpy and dusty, through the wonderful Gürbetal with views of the Stockhorn and Gantrisch mountain ranges. Great gravel fun and shaky hands are guaranteed.

From Belp the route leads to warm up along the Gürbe on the only longer asphalt section to Toffen. The gravel fun really begins with the passage at the Gürbebadi Toffen. Along the Gürbe, past the confluence of Gürbe and Mösche to Kaufdorf, you can really pedal hard. However, one should not forget to enjoy the view of the Stockhorn and Gantrisch mountain ranges. The route is also used by hikers. Showing appropriate consideration is a matter of course! At the next junction in Kaufdorf - Gelterfingen, there is a short road change in a left-right combination due to a driving ban. Then it continues along the left bank of the Gürbe to the Gürbebadi Mühlethurnen. Those who need cooling off are at the right place here or about 5 minutes later at Lohnstorf Brügg to jump into the cool water. The following section leads for a short time over hiking trails not along the Gürbe, but the view of the mountains is all the more impressive. After crossing the main road, it is quite bumpy on the right bank of the Gürbe and then along the official bike route 74 to Wattenwil.

After a refreshment in one of the local establishments, it goes briefly on the main road and then on a side road with a steep climb towards Gurzelen. Now you turn your back on the mountains and continue over a short gravel section to Seftigen. From the main road, soon turn left and then right again uphill towards Zeughaus. A short singletrail leads back into the Gürbetal and onto a dirt path at the foot of Belpberg, partly through the forest and along the Mösche to Gelterfingen. Then the final sprint over dusty and partially bumpy dirt and gravel paths back to Belp.
