Small Animal Commune

Wildnispark Zürich Sihlwald - A pile of branches here, a few piled stones there and an insect hotel on the wall – all places where lizards, hedgehogs, bees, and other small animals find a home.

Small animals such as lizards, slow worms, wild bees, butterflies, and hedgehogs are finding fewer and fewer opportunities to hide, raise their young or forage for food. The Small Animal Commune next to the Visitor Centre in Sihlwald offers these species a protected habitat. Take a stroll through the small structures and watch the lizards sunbathing, or the bees as they fly from flower to flower.
