The hiking trail in the famous pilgrimage site of Heiligkreuz. Here you can already enjoy a fantastic view of the Entlebuch. The first 500 meters lead you along a tarmac road to the Hundsbode forest, where the Heiligkreuz protective forest trail also starts. Follow this to the Stolehüttli. The barbecue area and great view of the village of Schüpfheim invite you to take your first break.
Cool off briefly at the wooden fountain and you are ready for the ascent through the forest towards Farnere. After the sweat-inducing ascent zigzagging through the forest, you have definitely earned the fantastic view. The section with the steepest ascent is now behind you. After making a note in the summit book, you hike for almost two kilometers through open terrain with great panoramic views towards the First mountain restaurant. Enjoy a delicious lunch or dessert on the sun terrace and enjoy the view of the Schimbrig, Äbnistetteflue and Schafmatt.
From the First, the trail leads you back to Heiligkreuz. On the way, you will pass the Wurzilla fairytale trail, which may require a stop for the children...
