The ski route starts at Hirsegg in front of the village of Sörenberg and leads over Stächelgg and Schlund up to the highest peak of the Schrattenfluh, the Hengst. The route is easy and also suitable for beginners. It is a popular route, so on weekends it can happen that you have to wait a few minutes for a place in the ascent track. With the Alpine hut Schlund, you also have the opportunity to take a break along the way. The Alpine hut is open on weekends in good weather.

Safety advices

Serious route planning is the key to a successful and safe mountain experience. Before every route, inform yourself about wildlife resting zones and protected areas as well as the current snow conditions. Tips for successful route planning from the Swiss Alpine Club SAC can be found here.

Current information on the avalanche bulletin and snow conditions.

Please consider the following points on the ski routes:

  • Stay on the marked routes
  • Allow enough time and monitor the weather
  • Behave quietly, as this increases the chance to see wildlife; observe the animals from a respectful distance
  • Your dogs are also allowed to engage in winter sports here, but must be kept on a leash
  • Take your trash home with you along with your wonderful memories.

If nature sports enthusiasts respect the space of wildlife, fewer bans and restrictions are needed and the natural landscape remains open for authentic nature experiences. We ask for careful consideration and thank you for it!
