Nature in urban areas

Nature / LandscapeBiodiversityVisitor management

Naturpark Pfyn-Finges - Natural oases in urban areas promote biodiversity, cool on hot days and improve the quality of life. A living environment starts on your doorstep - and every green area counts.

Initial situation

Every year, the Pfyn-Finges Nature Park works with engaged communities within the park to implement projects for the ecological improvement of public spaces. In addition to the redesign, maintenance concepts are reviewed and optimized. The nature park communities receive specialist advice and support in coordination and construction management and benefit from the in-depth knowledge and practical experience of the nature park team. Interested individuals can receive free garden consultations.

Goal

The many projects of the Pfyn-Finges Nature Park are geared towards the long term and follow sustainable and ecological principles. Regional and natural building materials are preferred, and native plants are sourced locally. Measures promoting biodiversity, such as the instalment of old wood piles, are integrated in a targeted manner. Continuous monitoring of the projects enables observation, control and optimization of implementation over several years.

Further information

A particular focus in the projects is on the integration of external expertise. Planning, development and implementation are carried out in close cooperation with experts and mandate holders. Through this transfer of knowledge, both the employees of the nature park and external partners benefit from the experience gained.
