Hôtel Wasserfall

Hotel Wasserfall is conveniently located in the heart of Jaun, the only German-speaking village in La Gruyère. Recently refurbished throughout using Swiss timber, the hotel offers a contemporary take on traditional design. In addition to the restaurant which is open 7 days a week, Wasserfall boasts several guest rooms, including six themed doubles, each of which celebrate a particular aspect of the region's heritage and identity. There is also one room that has been specially adapted for wheelchair users.
The atmosphere perfectly encapsulates the unique character of this small mountain village and its residents. It is not surprising then that Hotel Wasserfall has proved a huge hit with visitors, tourists, and even locals.

For Antje Buchs, one of the hotel's three co-directors, supporting the local economy is also part of Wasserfall's mission. She works as much as possible with producers and suppliers from the Jogne region, which not only minimises transport emissions but also creates significant added value for the region. Almost all breakfast items are locally sourced and packaging-free, while hotel refuse, particularly food waste, is recycled.
