Naturpark Thal - In common parlance the old road over the Obere Hauenstein pass is called the Roman Road. You can see impressive historical road constructions at this location, at Am Stalden and Obere Hauenstein.

You are on the official "Via Romana", a historical route of national importance to the Swiss cultural trails. This leads from Aventicum (today Avenches) to Augusta Raurica (near to Rheinfelden) You can view more historical sections at Am Stalden near Holderbank and at Obere Hauenstein in Langenbruck (see interactive map at www.paerke.ch).
