A short cross-country skiing route during the lunch break or after work, this easy trail in Escholzmatt is perfect for that.
Trail report BergfexDiscover on the Marbach-Escholzmatt-Bumbach trail network a total of 50 km of trails in classic and skating style, and enjoy the unparalleled scenery. The starting point is right at Escholzmatt train station. The circular trail runs over flat terrain to the industrial zone and back from there. If you want to glide further through the snow, there are several options in and around Escholzmatt: the Escholzmatt-Ebnet circular trail or the Escholzmatt-Wiggen circular trail. Or you ski to Wiggen and further on to Marbach or even via Bumbach to Kemmeriboden.

With all passes and tickets for the cross-country trail, you can travel free of charge on the postbus route Escholzmatt-Kemmeriboden during the winter season! There are 15 postbus stops along the trail.

- Use only the marked trail and follow the signposts.
- Be considerate towards other trail users and the landscape.
- Carry additional sun protection. UV rays at high altitudes can be especially strong in winter, even on cloudy days.
- Weather conditions in the mountains can change very quickly and without warning. Appropriate clothing is very important.
