Winter hike Finsterwald-Wissenegg

Winter hiking path
Time required: 1 hour 22 minutesLength: 5.05 km

UNESCO Biosphäre Entlebuch - The scenic winter hike in the sun-drenched Finsterwald is perfect for anyone seeking peace amidst nature.

The winter hike starts in the village of Finsterwald above Entlebuch. Parking spaces are located on the right side of the road. From here you first walk about 150 meters towards Entlebuch and then turn right towards the drilling platform and follow the road to the end of the houses, where you turn right again. From here you hike via Nesslebrunnbode to the drilling platform - an old industrial monument of Entlebuch. In the 1980s, gas was extracted at this site. If the cross-country ski trail is open, a simple coffee corner is operated here on weekends. The winter hike through beautiful nature takes you further through romantic woodland sections and moorlands along the Fuchseremoos to Wissenegg. At the end of the road there is a barbecue area with a large wooden lounger to relax. Enjoy a few quiet moments before you head back. For the return to Finsterwald, follow the same road and stay on it all the way to the village.

Safety advices

We ask you to observe the following points on the winter hiking trails:

  • Stay on the marked routes
  • Plan enough time and monitor the weather
  • Behave quietly, so there is even the possibility to see wild animals; observe the animals from a respectful distance
  • Your dogs are also allowed to do winter sports with us, but they must be on a leash
  • Take your rubbish home with your wonderful memories.

If outdoor enthusiasts respect the space of wild animals, fewer prohibitions and restrictions are needed and the natural landscape remains open for genuine nature experiences. We ask for careful consideration and thank you for it!
