Naturpark Gantrisch - Hill landscape, Sensegraben, a cantonal border, and the well-deserved refreshment in the mountain lake - all this is offered by stage 19 of the Alpenpanoramaweg. 

Stage 19, Guggisberg - Schwarzsee

Guggisberg is located at 1115 m above sea level, nestled between Sense and Schwarzwasser in the pre-Alpine region and in the middle of the Gantrisch Nature Park. The village became nationally known mainly through the Guggisberglied. The melancholic folk song "Vreneli ab em Guggisberg" is commemorated with a small local history museum in the village center. Alternately over fields, through idyllic hamlets, and over wooded hill ridges, you hike about 400 meters downhill to the ancient Sensegraben. It takes around three hours to Zollhaus. The Cold and Warm Sense merge here into the Sense. The cantonal border between Bern and Freiburg is also at Zollhaus and the border river. On the picturesque path along the bank of the Warm Sense, one continues uphill toward Schwarzsee. About one and a half hours pass until reaching the beautifully situated destination of the stage in the eastern Freiburg pre-Alps.
