Naturpark Beverin - Along the faszinatur trail, the Valendas fountain nymph tells you stories about nature, landscape, geology and culture at seven stations.
The fountain mermaid of Valendas guides young and old at seven stations along the circular trail, which branches off from the hiking trail along the Ruinaulta at two points. She tells short stories and sets observation tasks that sharpen the senses and allow you to experience nature, geology and history in a fascinating way. One section of the trail leads along the Rhine Gorge, where, with a little luck, you can observe the rare sandpiper on the gravel banks of the floodplain.
Start also possible at Valendas-Sagogn railway station. The trail can be walked in both directions. Connection to public transport in Valendas village and Valendas-Sagogn railway station.
The Ruinaulta owes its existence to the Flimser landslide 10,000 years ago, when 10,000 million m3 of rock thundered into the valley. The canyon-like ravine in the Vorderrhein Valley can be reached on foot, across the water, by train or by bike.
Der grösste Holzbrunnen europas steht mitten im Dorf Valendas. Er ist mit 1760 datiert und wird von einer Brunnenjumpfer geschmückt.

faszinaturRaum Safiental - Rheinschlucht
Der «faszinaturRaum» in Valendas ermöglicht einen Einblick quer durch den Reichtum von Flora und Fauna im Safiental – von der Rheinschlucht bis zum Safierberg.
Der Weg eignet sich perfekt für Familien mit jüngeren Kindern. Auf dem knapp 2 km langen Weg lösen Kinder das Rätsel der verschollenen Brunnennixe von Valendas. Den Eltern bieten sich auf dem Rundweg attraktive Ausblicke in die Rheinschlucht.

Die Brunnennixe von Valendas hat es geschafft. Viele gute Geister sind ihrem Wink an Europas grössten Holzbrunnen gefolgt und haben mit vereinten Kräften das «Gasthaus am Brunnen» zu neuem Leben erweckt.
Valendas gilt als Vorzeigeobjekt für eine zukunftsgerichtete Dorfentwicklung. Die Ausstellung gibt Einblicke in die Geschichte des Bergdorfes und zeigt, wie die nachhaltige Entwicklung zu einem lebendigen Dorf erfolgreich gelungen ist.
