Since the Triassic period 245 million years ago, climate changes, mountain formations and sea flooding have shaped and repeatedly transformed the landscape of the Kettenjura. The Küttigen–Staffelegg geo-hiking trail was created with the aim of making these exciting and interesting processes accessible to a wider audience. At the same time, it also aims to raise public awareness of the scenic beauty and uniqueness inevitably linked to the geological processes.
