Illgraben info board / interpretation show

Naturpark Pfyn-Finges - The Pfyn-Finges Nature Park offers many scenic features. One of these is the Illgraben: an extremely active torrent. Several times a year mudslides occur in the Illgraben which transport enormous quantities of water and debris.

In the course of thousands of years, a unique landscape has arisen that has shaped the local flora and fauna as well as the life of the residents there.
At the railway station, three installations capture the attention and curiosity of the passers-by. The theme of the “torrent” is approached in a playful manner, and a respectful treatment of the Illgraben is sensitised humorously. Anyone who would like to learn more is invited to visit the tourist office to deepen his knowledge. One info board provides information about geomorphological processes (how did this landscape come about?), nature (what effects does the Illgraben have on the flora and fauna ?) and dealing with natural hazards (What is it like to live near to a torrent, and what should I do in the case of a mudslide?) The contents can be explored with multimedia and according to individual requirements.
