UNESCO Biosphäre Entlebuch -
The easy hike, also well suitable for families, starts at Rossweid above Sörenberg, which you can comfortably reach by gondola. At Rossweid, the Erlebnis-Restaurant Rossweid and the Mooraculum, the largest moor experience park in the Alps, invite you to spend some time at the starting point. Discover and learn a lot about moors at the Mooraculum.
Ready for the hike? Simply follow the marked trail toward Salwideli / Kemmeribodenbad. Just behind Rossweid, the path enters a fern-rich blueberry-spruce forest and you feel like you are in another world. After a short stretch, the forest alternates with colorful moor landscapes dotted with pink glowing orchids and white tussocks of cotton grass. Let yourself be inspired by the beauty of nature. The legendary Schrattenfluh and the impressive Brienzer Rothorn range are your constant companions. Along the way, you can stop at the Bergwelten Salwideli or later visit the lovely Schneberg farm shop. The famous “Merängge” at the Hotel Kemmeribodenbad is a crowning finale to this hike.
