Walk Miège - Leuk

Naturpark Pfyn-Finges - From Sierre railway station we drive with the bus to Miège church, where the walk starts. We cross the terraced vineyards in the golden autumnal light and follow the signposted wine trail to Leuk.

From Sierre railway station we drive with the bus to Miège church, where the walk starts. We cross the terraced vineyards in the golden autumnal light and follow the signposted wine trail to above Salgesch. On the way there is a lot to discover, either directly on the trail or accessible with a little detour. Shortly after Miège one comes across a picnic area, where all grape varieties in Valais have been planted on a single plot. Numerous boards explain what makes the surroundings so special or makes the walker aware of the winemakers' craft. Alongside the Raspille before Salgesch the pyramids of Salgesch project into the sky - sculptures in stone that have been washed with water in the rock.
We continue through the terraced vineyards to the steppe slope, along the irrigation channel to Varen. Here one should not miss the view from the church!
Finally we cross the Dala by way of the Hammer mill (earlier a toll was demanded here!) and thus reach Leuk-Town.
