Swiss Wrestling trail Springenboden
Naturpark Diemtigtal - Get ready for the Swiss Wrestling Trail with a fresh new look: On June 21, 2026, the "Way to the King" was inaugurated. This popular themed trail in the homeland of Swiss wrestling king Kilian Wenger, dedicated to the Swiss national sport, has been digitized and integrated into the "Diemtigtal" app with a wealth of new content. Experience Swiss wrestling as a vibrant Swiss tradition in a modern and interactive way. There's even a new children's puzzle for younger wrestling fans. Each station features sporting activities that reflect typical training elements and invite not only children to participate. The digital Swiss Wrestling Trail thus uniquely combines learning, exercise, and fun. The app is available in German / local dialect only.
As you explore the home of Wenger Kilian, you’ll learn more about this popular national sport, which has managed to preserve its rustic roots. Schwingen is good for you; it builds strength and resilience. Swiss wrestling embodies camaraderie and down-to-earth values. The people of the Diemtigtal have known this for a long time, which is why it has been an active part of their culture for generations. What’s more, the three Swiss wrestling kings from the Diemtigtal naturally make us very proud – do you know who they are?
Information boards along the route give you an insight into the world of Swiss wrestling and teach you what it takes to become a Swiss wrestling king. The individual stops focus on topics such as young Swiss wrestlers, fitness, technique, mental strength, women in Swiss wrestling and sponsorship. A QR code takes you to further interactive content featuring interviews, animations and games (all information only in German / local dialect).
At the end of the circular walk, in the Pavilion of the Swiss wrestling kings, you’ll find several portraits, watch the final bouts of the last Swiss National Wrestling Festivals on screen, and admire the lifelike wooden bull ‘Arnold’ and our Swiss wrestling king himself in life-size form.
