L'Ermitage Guesthouse

Parc naturel régional Gruyère Pays-d'Enhaut - A showcase of authenticity and local craftsmanship.

Sophie Labarraque moved to the Pays-d'Enhaut from France. Although she had no hospitality training, Sophie took over a shuttered hotel and transformed it into a unique guesthouse that celebrates the natural beauty and authenticity of its surroundings.
In addition to 16 rooms with balconies, L'Ermitage boasts a tea room, coffee lounge, wine bar, spacious terrace, and an exhibition space.
Like the objects on display in its cabinet of curiosities, L'Ermitage is an exemplar of craftsmanship and respect for nature.
L'Ermitage actively supports the local economy, local culture and local crafts (hosting of a weekly market in summer, among others). The guesthouse's restaurant is a Pays-d'Enhaut Authentic Products Ambassador, and has been awarded the Fait maison and Slowfood labels.
The grounds of L'Ermitage are beautifully landscaped in line with the Garden Charter and permaculture principles. In summer, visitors will be able to spot the raspberry bushes which grow alongside the vines and fruit trees that surround the guesthouse. In 2019, Sophie obtained the Swiss Wood certificate for L'Ermitage's carpentry and joinery work.
