Mettilimoos trail
UNESCO Biosphäre Entlebuch -
The Metteli trail starts at the entrance of the village Finsterwald and runs over meadows towards Fuchsschnellen, across the Mettilimoos raised bog to Brunnenwäldli, past two large wind turbines to Widen, before returning with some curves back to Finsterwald. Another entry point is located at Brunnenwäldli on Mettelistrasse. At the point "Steli" you will also find an alternative trail to shorten the cross-country ski experience.
The trails through beautiful nature lead you through romantic forest sections and moorlands in the UNESCO Biosphere Entlebuch. The Finsterwald trail consists of three sections: trail Nesslenbrunnenboden, Wissenegg and Metteli.
Trail passes & prices
Trail passes are available via the online shop, at the Kassahaus on the Wissenegg trail or at the Nordic Point on the Bohrplatte (open on weekends).

Changing rooms & shower/WC
In the former school building (see signposts) there is a changing room with WC and shower.

Equipment / Equipment rent
Ski rental and courses at the Nordic Point on the Bohrplatte directly at the Nesslenbrunnenboden trail Finsterwald on Saturdays and Sundays from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
In bad weather, opening times may change at short notice. Please always check at www.langlauf-finsterwald.ch whether the ski rental is open.
Safety advices
- Use exclusively the marked trail and observe the signposts.
- Behave considerately towards other trail users and the landscape.
- Carry additional sun protection. UV rays at high altitudes can be particularly strong in winter, even in cloudy weather.
- The weather conditions in the mountains can change very quickly and without warning. Appropriate clothing is very important.
