The parish church in Varen is not only architecturally interesting. Its location offers a unique viewing point. Enjoy the view from the church of the Rhone valley and the forest of Pfyn/Finges nature reserve.
This wonderful circular hike lasts about 4:30 and leads to the alpine pastures around Leukerbad. The paths are well developed so that the hike is suitable for a wide public.

Already the ancient Romans were familiar with the healing powers of water and wine. The old Roman road connects the bathing experience with wine tasting.
Start with the cable car ride: Gampel - Jeizinen. From Jeizinen the route leads to Erschmatt and/or Feschel-Guttet. Between Leuk and Varen one crosses the Dala gorge. The descent goes directly down through Salquenen to the railway station at Sierre.
The Dala Kultur Bike is the perfect tour for beginners. The route offers a combination of technically easy trails along with various natural and cultural sites.
A lake in summer - cross-country skiing in winter. There are also beautiful walks around the Dauben Lake. In winter you can do cross-country skiing or go for a beautiful winter walk.

Among all the insects that enliven the ponds and channels in the Pfyn forest, the dragonflies are definitely the most elegant and easiest to observe. There are two types of dragonfly in the forest: The small dragonfly and the large dragonfly.
The EGGUWEG will lead you to 17 interesting places (EGGU = corner, nook). Between the middle of May up to the end of October all are invited to follow the path and to learn facts about herbs and culture.
In the winter season, the EGGUWEG can be made through the village from EGGU 7 to 16.
Erschmatt (Municipality of Leuk) is a site of national importance. Visit the variety garden or bake and make cheese like in days gone by.
In Leuk-Stadt there are still several estates and manor houses. In Kreuzgasse there is the Von-Werra manor house, the Zen-Ruffinen estate in the Gintig and the Mayotshos in the Galdinen.
