You cycle along the valley floor from Balsthal to Herbetswil. The route leads through the delightful hills around Aedermannsdorf and Matzendorf. The hamlet of Höngen and the Holzfluh offer superb viewpoints on the route.

From the Hotel Balsthal you cycle along side roads in the direction of Oensingen. Before you get to the roundabout turn off right to the swimming pool. Once there, turn off right again and cycle straight on to the tennis hall. A turn-off leads you left up to a farmhouse and afterwards right onwards to the bottom of the valley. Follow the Dünnern river and then along the Rickenbächli to Herbetswil. From the village centre the route continues on country roads to Aedermannsdorf, Matzendorf, Laupersdorf and up to the hamlet of Höngen. On the descent, make a detour to Holzfluh (walk up 5 minutes), before cycling back to Balsthal.Arrival
