Martinsweg: cultural route on the Wittnau Buschberg
Jurapark Aargau - A historical, spiritual, legendary route. For all those interested in religion, culture, and history, the Martinsweg with its legends and stories is almost a must.
The Martinsweg is a beautifully situated circular route through the table Jura landscape west of Wittnau. Besides the ruin of the Refugium Horn, which was used for more than a millennium, a place of power, and a Celtic burial mound, it passes various Christian symbols.
The route starts at St. Martin Church in Wittnau and leads over the Buschberg to the Horn and back down to Wittnau. After a replica of the Lourdes Grotto from 1902, a contemplation path with 12 stations leads along the wooded slopes up to the Buschberg, where a chapel, a place of power, a Celtic burial mound from the 7th century BC, and a boulder can be visited.
A brochure about the Martinsweg is available at the literature stand of St. Martin Church in Wittnau for CHF 5.00.
