Arboretum in the Aubonne valley

Natural monumentMuseum / Exhibition
Season: All season

Parc naturel régional Jura vaudois - Some 3,000 species and varieties of trees and shrubs, mainly from the world’s temperate regions, are to be found at the national Arboretum in the valley of the Aubonne river.

Unique in Switzerland, the park Arboretum of the Aubonne valley features collections of a wide variety of trees and shrubs from every continent capable of acclimatising to the region. The Arboretum was first set up in 1968. It covers over 130 hectares within a 200-hectare area of farmland and forest, and is home to some 4,000 woody plants. The Arboretum’s mission is scientific, educational, and recreational: sharing what we know about trees and helping us appreciate them.

Post bus to the villages of Aubonne, Montherod, or St-Livres. The entrance to the Arboretum is 1.7 km from the Montherod-Battoir bus stop.
Get off at the terminus of the Bière-Apples-Morges (MBC) railway in Bière, then take the footpath towards Aubonne. Allow one hour to reach the northern entrance to the Arboretum.
